Kids Sandal Sizes Made Easy- AU Sizing Guide and Conversion Chart
Kit & Kate's presents our Australian sizing and selection guide for kids and children's sandals. Finding the right sized sandals for your child's first steps can be difficult as children's shoe sizes can be confusing with many different versions. To make it easier, we created this handy and easy-to-use guide based on best practices. We even included a handy baby and toddler sandal sizing chart by age (years and months) and country (AU/EU/US) for easy size conversion to help you get the best fit for your child. We trust that you will find it useful as we have done our best to make it as easy as possible to use. It will help answer questions such as:
How do I figure out my toddler's sandal size?
What size sandal is suitable for a 12 month or 1 year old toddler?
How do I measure my toddler's feet correctly?
What ages correspond to a size for toddler's feet?
What size sandals do 2, 3 and 4 year olds wear?
What are the best sandals for my toddler to learn how to walk?
For those of you who don't know us, we are a small business based in Perth, Western Australia, where we sell our very own, WA-designed quality natural leather toddler, kids and children's sandals. Inspired by some of the great classics, our sandals are designed to be as comfortable as they are stylish, so much so that we'd say that children never want to take them off!"

Sizing Guide for Baby, Toddler, First Walker & Kids Sandals (AU/US/EU/UK)
Finding the right size pair of sandals for your little one as they are learning to walk need not be a trying task. Trust us, a good baby sandal sizing guide will make the task a lot more manageable. It is important to remember that in the heat of summer, feet swell up. As a result our sandals are a tiny bit larger and wider than our shoes to leave a little bit of room for those chubby little feet. However, for consistency, our beautiful children's baby, toddler and children's sandals always follow Australian sizing rules. Just in case though, for those of you who are used to shoe sizes from other countries, we have included a handy sizing conversion table / chart so that you can easily convert between European (EU), American (US), United Kingdom (UK) and Australian (AU) sizes.
What to do: Just measure your child's foot from heel to the tip of their big toe and leave an extra about 1cm for growing.
Handy hint for measuring your child's foot: We sometimes find it easier to put their feet on a piece of blank paper, trace around it and then measure after as it can be impossible to hold a tape measure to their wiggly little feet.
All you have to do then is order your required size based off the cm or size measurement (don't forget to add that extra cm) in our handy conversion chart below. If your baby is between sizes or you aren't completely sure, select the larger size. They do grow quite quickly!
SIZE (AU / UK) | In-Sole Length | Age Guide (Approx) | EU Size | US Size |
3 | 11.8 cm | 6-12 months old | 19 | 4 |
4 | 12.6 cm | 12-18 month old | 20 | 5 |
5 | 13.4 cm | 18-24 month old | 21/22 | 6 |
6 | 14.2 cm | 2 year old | 23 | 7 |
7 | 15 cm | 2.5 year old | 24 | 8 |
8 | 15.8 cm | 3 year old | 25/25.5 | 9 |
9 | 16.6 cm | 3.5 year old | 26.5/27 | 10 |
10 | 17.4 cm | 4 year old | 28 | 11 |
The table above should be used as a guide only as children's feet sizes can vary considerably even between children of the same age.
